SCHOLARSHIP MINISTRY
The Scholarship Ministry is currently under the direction of Mrs. Diane Smith.
The Scholarship Ministry’s primary mission is to provide academic and financial support to those members seeking to enhance their post high school education. Students are encouraged to further their education via tutoring, counseling, and by providing financial support. Finances for the ministry are derived from member donations, 3rd and 4th days scholarship offering, gold and silver star contributors, memorial contributions and the annual banquet.
Yearly activities of the Scholarship Ministry are:
- Breakfast with Pastor and First Lady for students to interact with them on a more personal basis
- Speaking before congregation as to why they should receive a scholarship
- Banquet for awarding scholarships
- Tutorial program with one-on-one and with some forms of technology integrated
- Workshops with speakers from professional fields and other pertinent information
- College tours
- Online resource materials from the church library and current information posted in the Stotts Fellowship Hall area
- Baccalaureate service
- Care packages to college students
- Yearly registration of students in grades 9-11
- Annual Financial Seminar
- Provide Financial Website Information
- Scholarships based on Academic Performance and Need based
- On Line Resource Materials from the Church Library
- On Line Applications Beginning February 1st of the Academic Year
